ABSTRACT
Background: The pandemic affects people's access to health services, especially for pregnant women. Fears of COVID-19 transmission and social restrictions have an impact on pregnant women's access to antenatal care. This study aimed to analyze the spatial determinants that affect access to antenatal care for pregnant women in Java and Bali during the pandemic.
Methods: This study was a non-reactive or unobtrusive measures study with 128 districts/cities spread across six provinces in Java and one province in Bali as the unit of analysis. The collected data were analyzed using spatial Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), which considers spatial weights.
Result: The results explained that there was a different influence of the factors of women's resources (γ=0.246, p-value=0.007), family (γ=0.034, p-value=0.645), and community (γ=0.287, p-value=0.004), on ANC, childbirth, postpartum and family planning services in each district/city in Java and Bali during the pandemic. The better the quality of women and community resources, the better the access to antenatal care by pregnant women.
Conclusion: The high and low quality of family resources cannot influence the motivation of pregnant women to utilize antenatal care.
